ABRI MAGAZINE

Visual identity (2020)

ABRI Magazine is a project of 33 second-year students of HKU Graphic Design, in collaboration with AG: Ruimte voor nieuwe kunst en media. The starting point of this project was the phenonemon of tourism, but halfway through, the perspective of our research field was unexpectedly been tilted by Covid-19. What is the meaning of tourism in a situation where everyone is expected to stay at home as much as possible? When exhibiting our work in AG was proved impossible, we found an alternative in making a magazine.
The identity for ABRI was designed by Isa Lebbink, Dave Haverkort, Annemijn Catshoek and Noa Wassink. The logo is based on an abri (bus stop) and the grid is based on a bus stop sign. Also using a window-like design, to relate to the situation where we are staying inside.
